How to enable Workflow Forwarding

Description of Issue
  • We have a supervisor out on medical leave. How do we forward approval of time entry to another supervisor?
  • A workflow approver is going on vacation or will be unavailable
Context

Cause
  • Original workflow approver is unavailable
Resolution
  • To enable workflow forwarding:
  1. Navigate to the program Workflow User Attributes using one of these options: 
    1. System Administration> Workflow Administration> Workflow User Attributes
    2. Human Capital Management> Human Resources> Personnel Setup> Human Resources Workflow Administration> Workflow User Attributes
  2. Click Search and locate the workflow approver you wish to forward from
  3. Navigate to the Workflow Detail tab
  4. Select Forwarding Changes
    1. To forward all items, select Enable forwarding of all work to this approver or select specifics and select User ID of temporary approver
    2. To forward specific workflow, select specific workflow process under the column Forward for the specific process codes (EST, ESA, etc.) to only forward those items to the temporary approver
  5. Click Accept
  • To disable workflow forwarding when the original approver returns, return to this program and select Stop All Forwarding.
