Unable to Update Account or Header Amount in Budget Entry - Account flagged to Require Budget Detail

Description of Issue

Unable to enter the account or header amount in Central Budget Entry; field is grayed out.

Next Year Budget Entry error: To update this amount, you must update budget detail.

Cannot update the summary budget amount.

Cause

Account is flagged with Require Budget Detail in Account Master.

Resolution

To allow entering budget amounts at the Header/Account level, the checkmark for Require Budget Detail needs to be removed in Account Master.

Financials > General Ledger Menu > Setup/Chart of Accounts > Account Master

  1. Search for the Account.
  2. Update
  3. Uncheck the Require Budget Detail option.
  4. Accept

If the account should require budget detail, then details can be entered through:

  •  Next Year Budget Entry by selecting Detail Entry or Detail Info or
  • Central Budget Entry by selecting the Detail button on the left side of the account line and clicking Add Detail in the ribbon.
