TX TRS what is the difference between the Total Gross Compensation field on the RP20 and ER20 records

Description of Issue

I pay subs and working retirees from the same pay code and this pay code is excluded from both of their zero-dollar deductions. Why do the subs report Total Gross Compensation but my retirees don't?

Resolution

On the RP20, Total Gross Compensation is supposed to reflect all earnings, and the Generate populates the field with the sum of earnings from all EERP pays..

On the ER20, Total Gross Compensation is the equivalent of TRS-Eligible Compensation on the RP20 - It should only reflect the earnings that would be TRS eligible, if the employee wasn't retired.  The retiree zero-dollar deduction should exclude all EERP pays that are not TRS eligible and the Generate populates the field with the sum of earnings from all EERP pays that haven't been defined in Payroll Exceptions as excluded.
