New Hire tasks for NYSLRS reporting accuracy

New Hire tasks for NYSLRS reporting accuracy

Description of Issue

Do we have to add every new hire to the NYSLRS ID and Employment Instance in the State Reporting Codes Program?

Context
  • Payroll

  • New York

  • NYSLRS Report

Cause

Resolution

Yes.

In order to report accurately, every employee needs a NYSLRS ID record and at least one Employment Instance record.

If the employee is a Retiree or Optional Member, the NYSLRS zero dollar deduction needs to be attached in Employee Deductions.

If the employee belongs to an Employee Class other than 12, an Employee Groups record must be created.

Additional Information

Reference NYSLRS Report - Setup for step-by-step setup details.
