Cause
Available Budget Check looks to different fields depending on fund setup
Resolution
Available budget is calculated as outlined below. The difference is which columns are used to calculate this amount.
- Original Budget + Transfers In - Transfers out - Actuals - Encumbrances - Requisitions = Available Budget
Annual Accounts
- Available Budget check calculated based on the year defined on the transaction.
- Available Budget independent for each year, month, or quarter based on fund definitions
Multi Year Life to Date
- Available Budget check based on available for the life of the account (Life column in Account Inquiry)
- Available Budget calculated for the life of the fund, not broken down by year, month, or quarter.
Additional Information
Using Budget Rollups or Monthly Budgeting flag will affect how the available budget for an account is calculated.
To determine the budget setup for a fund, follow the steps below.
- Browse to Financials > General Ledger Menu > Setup Chart of Accounts
- Accept
- Locate and highlight the fund in question
- Review the Budget multi-year fund annually field. If checked, it will follow the Annual Calculation outlined above
