Unable to Change Character code tied to an account in Account Master

Context

  • Chart of Account Segments
Cause

Character Code defined on the Object Code was blank.

Resolution

The Character Code tied to an account comes directly from the Object Code. To update the Character Code, the Chart of Account Segments program must be used.

Financials > General Ledger Menu > Setup/Chart of Accounts > Chart of Account Segments

  1. From the dropdown, select Object Code and then Accept
  2. Search for the Object Code number
  3. Update
  4. Enter the Character Code and Accept
