How to define Employee Deduction record W-4 amounts when using Biweekly Tax Tables



Description of Issue

We use biweekly tax tables and have a new 2020 W-4 with a dependent amount of $2,000, do I need to break that down to the biweekly amount on the Employee Deduction record?

Cause

Resolution
  1. Go to Employee Deductions. (Payroll>Employee Maintenance>Employee Deductions)
  2. Search for the employee and federal deduction code. Click Accept.
  3. In the Dependents field, define the amount provided in Step 3 of the 2020 W-4 form.  
Additional Information

If using biweekly tax tables, the full annual amount defined on the 2020 W-4 form for Step 3, Step 4a and 4b can be defined on the deduction record and the system will calculate based on the biweekly tax tables.
