Description of Issue

User imported journals with the source code GEL and cannot locate them in General Journal Entry/Proof



Context

  • Import Journals

  • General Journal Entry/Proof

  • Encumbrance Journal Entry/Proof

  • Accounting Entries



Cause

GEL journals are encumbrance journals, which are found in different programs than GEN journals when in proof



Resolution

Users can locate GEL journals in either Encumbrance Journal Entry/Proof or Accounting Entries after the journal has been imported.

Enterprise ERP > Financials > General Ledger Menu > Journal Entry/History > Encumbrance Journal Entry/Proof

  1. Search

  2. Enter the Fiscal Year, Period, or Journal number

    1. These are provided in Import Journals program in the Import Summary section after successfully importing

  3. Accept

Enterprise ERP > Financials > General Ledger Menu > Journal Entry/History > Accounting Entries

  1. Select the Encumbrance Entry tab

  2. Click the Journal number hyperlink for the imported journal



Additional Information

Imported General Ledger journals (GEN and GCR) can be found in General Ledger Entry/Proof.

Imported budget adjustments (BUA) can be found in Budget Transfers and Amendments.

Imported encumbrance entries (GEL) are located in Encumbrance Journal Entry/Proof.

All three types of journals can be located in Accounting Entries under their respective tabs.
