Unable to reverse GEL journal

Encumbrance Journal Entry/Proof

Encumbrance journals cannot be reversed through the Journal Reversal program. 

There are two ways to reverse a GEL entry:

1. Post a new GEL journal in Encumbrance Journal Entry/Proof with the same setup as the original journal, except with debits and credits swapped to manually reverse out the amounts from the original GEL journal.
2. Account Central can be used to create a copy with Reversed signs:
   1. Go to Financials > General Ledger Menu > Inquiries And Reports > Account Central
   2. Search for one of the accounts from this original Journal
   3. Click Enter
   4. Click on the account
   5. Under the Transactions section of the account
   6. Use the Filter Funnel Icon on the right to search for the Journal Number or Source GEL
   7. Double Click the Journal Number Hyperlink 
      1. 1. This will open the journal in the Journal Analysis program
   8. Click Copy Journal
   9. To switch the debit/credit signs on the copied journal, click Reverse original journal amounts
   10. Select the Year and Period for this copied journal
   11. Click Continue 
   12. The Copied entry would then need to posted from within Encumbrance Journal Entry/Proof.
