Merging a budget projection - merge duplicate account amounts

What does the Merge duplicate account amounts option do?

Client is clicking Merge in Roll/Factor/Merge Projections program

Context

Roll/Factor/Merge Projections

Cause

Client wants to know functionality behind 'Merge duplicate account amounts' setting

Resolution

If Merge duplicate account amounts option is checked:

  • Merge process will overwrite detail and/or amounts in Receiving projection where same accounts exist in both projections

If Merge duplicate account amounts option is unchecked: 

  • Receiving projection will retain detail and/or amounts where same accounts exist in both
  • Ignores the amounts in the To Merge projection.
Additional Information

Regardless of the value of this check box, the program does not add amounts together.
