Description of Issue

Change segment that is tied to an org code

Is there a way to update the segments of an org code after it's been entered?

Context
  • Change General Ledger Account Codes
  • Configuration & Setup
  • Organization Code (ORG)
  • Segments
Cause

Org Code was added with the wrong segment attached

Resolution

This process can only be completed in LIVE with ALL USERS off the system.  Updates can be made in Train or Test first to ensure desired results.

  1. Browse to Financials > General Ledger Menu > Setup/Chart of Accounts > Change General Ledger Account Codes
  2. Segment Change
  3. Define the Org Code to be changed
  4. Change the segment(s) at the bottom as needed
  5. Accept
  6.  Process
  7. Review accounts and ensure the segment change was successful

Note: Fund segment (and Secondary Balancing Segment, if applicable) cannot be changed through this process

Additional Information

This will update all accounts tied to ORG segment change, it will not impact any journal details or amounts, all history will remain intact.
