How to import Prior Year Budget Amendments and Journal Entries

Errors when attempting to import last year journal:

• Import Journals: An invalid year has been entered.
• Journal Import Templates: Only current year and next year journals are allowed.

Financials > General Ledger Menu > Journal Entry/History > Import Journals

Importing Prior Year journal entries is not allowed through the Import Journals program. To get the journal imported you must use a Current Year, Period and Effective Date.

Once the journal is imported you can go into General Journal Entry/Proof or Budget Transfers and Amendments, select the journal entry, and use the Period option in the ribbon to change the Year/Period and Effective Date back to the prior year.
