How to Impersonate a User in Utilities Access

Is it possible to view what a citizens can see on Utilities Access without logging in as them?

Resolution

The account that is attempting to impersonate a user needs to be an Administrator or have the Utility Billing Impersonation role permission.

  1. Log into Utilities Access

  2. Click the Cogwheel in the top right.

  3. Click Admin

  4. Click Manage Members

  5. Search for the user with the Member Email field or Account Number field.

    1. For the Account Number field, you will need to enter the Account-CID associated with the account.

  6. Click Manage on the users record.

  7. Click Impersonate. You will automatically be brought to the Utilities Access home page with the same view that the user would.

Additional Information

Impersonating a user is a Read Only function. It is best used to help guide a customer through navigating Utilities Access, or to bring clarity to where a customer states there is an issue on the page.

While impersonating, you can:

  • View Current Bills

  • View Transactions

  • View Account Detail

While impersonating, you can NOT:

  • Make Payments

  • Modify Payment Methods

  • View Wallet

  • Change Customer Information

  • Schedule Payments
