Incorrect Journal Import Format for Cross Reference Accounts

• Journal Import Pre-Edit Error Report says Cross Reference Account could not be found.

• Journal Import
• Standard Import Format
• Cross-Reference Account, X-Reference, X-ref or Crosswalk

• The X-REF record is not defined or is incorrect
• The spacing in the import file caused the system to include incorrect characters as part of the Cross Reference Account

1. Check the spacing to match Standard Import Format specifications, add additional spacing as needed to adhere to the correct format.
   • If Excel to create import file, double check the column widths to ensure the correct spacing for each section of the import file prior to converting to Space Delimited (.prn) format.
2. Ensure the needed X-REF record exists and add if missing.
   • Manage Munis GL Account X-Reference records

Notepad++ is an excellent program that will show the spacing for .prn files to ensure accuracy prior to importing.
