Adjusting Munis Inactivity Timeouts





Description of Issue

I would like to adjust the amount of time that passes before Munis starts to auto-logoff users due to inactivity

Cause

Timeouts in Munis are tied to the Munis System Roles



Resolution

Munis Timeout by Role

  1. Navigate to System Administration > Security > Roles.

  2. Under the Module View Tab, select Munis System listed under General.

  3. Browse for and open the role you would like to configure

  4. If you wish to change the timeout setting, click Update

  5. Select desired value for Timeout programs after and idle time of from the drop down list

    1. Please note that these changes will take effect for all users assigned this role


View Timeout Setting by Individual User

  1. Navigate to System Administration > Security > User Attributes

  2. Search for desired user

  3. Click the Effective Permissions tab

  4. Scroll down to module and permission System Administration - Timeout programs after an idle time of

    1. The value displayed is the highest time out of all assigned roles

    2. A single role set to Disabled will overwrite any defined time for other roles

Munis can also produce an inactivity warning before a timeout. To adjust this interval:

  1. Navigate to System Administration > General Administration > System Settings

  2. Click Update

  3. Click the System Settings tab

  4. Select desired value for Prior to timeout, show a timeout alert for

  5. Click Accept
