Munis Programs Timing Out Unexpectedly in browser

Description of Issue

Munis programs time out when others are opened, prompting new tabs to be launched on the web browser

Context
  • Microsoft Edge

  • Munis
Cause

When using Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome, the browser will automatically set tabs to inactive after a certain amount of time to save system resources

Resolution

Microsoft Edge:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge
  2. Click the Settings and more ellipses button in the top-right corner
  3. Select the Settings option
  4. In the left panel, select System and performance
  5. Under the Optimize Performance section find Save resources with sleeping tabs section
  6. Turn off the Save resources with sleeping tabs toggle switch


Google Chrome:

  1. Open Google Chrome
  2. Click the Ellipsis in the top-right hand corner, then select Settings
  3. Select Performance from the left-hand menu
  4. Under Memory Saver, you can either toggle it off, or set up certain sites to not have this rule apply
