Delete an Organization code

Description of Issue

The organization code was created with the wrong Fund listed and needs to be deleted

Context

  • Set up chart of accounts

  • Segments

  • Organization codes

  • Account master

Cause

  • User created an Organization code against the wrong fund

  • Org code not tied to any accounts is no longer needed

  • Incorrect number used

Resolution

Delete the organization code that is not tied to any existing account

  1. Browse to Enterprise ERP > Financials > General Ledger Menu > Set up chart of accounts > Chart of account segments

  2. Click Accept

  3. Click Change Segment

  4. Update GL Segment to Organization

  5. Click Accept

  6. Click Search

  7. Type in Org Code

  8. Click Accept

  9. Click Delete

Additional Information

If the ORG code is tied to an account it cannot be deleted, if the account has no posted journals against it it can be deleted to free up the ORG for delete
