Cashiering is Slow

Description of Issue

Cashiering is experiencing latency, either upon sign in, during searches, or while processing payments.

Cause

Various. The below resolution is the recommended setup to optimize performance in the program. 

Resolution

Cashiering is Slow Upon Sign In

  1. Update to version 2021.8.0.1 or higher.

  2. Navigate to Administration > Settings. 

  3. In the General tab, set Log Level to Error. 

  4. Configure a clearing schedule. Recommended 30 days, clear at 12:00AM. 

  5. Enable Clear Unread Notifications. 

  6. Configure a clearing schedule. Recommended 7 days, clear at 1:00 AM. 

  7. Enable Clear Read Notifications. 

  8. Configure a clearing schedule. Recommended 1 day, clear at 2:00 AM. 

  9. Save. 

Changes will take effect after 24 hours. 


Cashiering is Slow when Searching for EERP Customers/Accounts

  1. Click your avatar/initials in the top-right corner. 

  2. Click Preferences. 

  3. Enable Exclude Zero Balance Items in Search. 

  4. Save. 

This setting can be re-enabled at any time using these steps, if a user needs to process a deposit or overpayment using a 0-balance bill. 


Cashiering is Slow when Processing Payments

  1. Update to version 2021.10 or higher. Beginning in this version, the file size of check images is reduced, which will boost performance sending data to Content Manager.
