Journal is out of balance by fund error in General Journal Entry and debit and credit totals on journal match

When creating a General Journal Entry, the following error occurs:

The Debit and Credit totals on this journal match, despite the error

• Even if the Debit and Credit totals of the journal do match, one or more Funds on the journal can be out of balance.
• Specific Funds being out of balance on a journal can cause this error to occur.

To determine which Fund(s) are out of balance on the journal a printed report or onscreen Summary option is available.

Print report instructions:

1. When viewing the journal in the General Journal Entry/Proof program, click PDF to export this journal as a PDF file
2. Select The current journal only to export just this particular journal
3. Click Accept to generate the PDF
4. This export will provide a Fund Summary for each Fund on the report
   1. Review these Fund Summaries to verify which Fund(s) do not balance

View journal Summary information onscreen:

1. With the journal pulled up in the Journal Entry/Proof program, select Summary from the Ribbon. This will provide a list of Funds used in the journal with the associated debits and credits.

This process will help you verify what corrections may be needed to balance this journal by each Fund.
