Description of Issue
Which permission is needed to post a journal in General Journal Entry in 11.3?

Cause
User who needs to post journals has not been assigned permissions to post journals.
Resolution
The two General Ledger permissions related to posting GEN journals are: 'Update own journal entries' and 'Update others' journal entries.'
To update permissions to allow the user to post GEN journal entries:
System Administration > Security > User Attributes
- Search for the user who will be posting journals.
- Select one of their roles that grants General Ledger.
- Click Edit Role near the bottom of the screen.
- Select the General Ledger yellow folder.
- Click Update
- Check off the option for 'Update own journal entries' if appropriate.
- Check off the option for 'Update others' journal entries' if appropriate.
- Click Accept to save updates.
- Reopen program before trying to repost.
