Unable to Enter Journal to GL Account without a Project String - Account flagged as Require project string on entry

• Error entering Journal in General Journal Entry/Proof, Budget Transfers/Amendments or Encumbrance Journal Entry/Proof

Account entered requires a project string therefore a project string must be entered.

Account flagged as Require project string on entry in Account Master.

To bypass the error message there are two options:

Option 1: Enter a project string on the same journal line of the transaction, if that project string has the correct default GL Account or the user has the ability to override the default, the GL account in question can be used.

Option 2: Remove the flag for 'Require project string on entry'

Financials > General Ledger Menu > Setup/Chart of Accounts > Account Master

1. Search for the Account Number
2. Update
3. Uncheck the box for 'Require project string on entry'
4. Accept
