Cause

User Defined Data on Journal Entry did not match an existing code for the User Defined Field.

Resolution

To resolve, the User Defined data must updated to match an existing code for the User Defined Field.

If the journal is unposted, the update can be made through General Journal Entry/Proof

Financials > General Ledger Menu > Journal Entry/History > General Journal Entry/Proof

  1. Search for the Year/Period/Journal Number
  2. Select User Defined in the ribbon
  3. Update
  4. Select a valid User Defined Code
  5. Accept

If the journal is posted, the update can be made through Journal Inquiry/Print

Financials > General Ledger Menu > Journal Entry/History > Journal Inquiry/Print

  1. Search for Year/Period/Journal Number
  2. Select User Defined in the ribbon
  3. Update
  4. Select a valid User Defined Code
  5. Accept
