Resolution

The ODS Status is used to keep the data on this record in-sync with your ODS.

ODS Status field will be one of the following:

  • New – The record does not exist on your ODS.
    • If you re-Generate and this record is no longer included, the Generate will remove the Period Record.
    • If you Submit, the record will be added to your ODS.
  • In Sync – An identical record currently exists on your ODS.
    • If you re-Generate, the details on this record are compared to the details on the Generated record.
      • If there are no changes to the data, this record is not changed and the ODS Status will remain In Sync
      • If there are changes to a "key" field, the Generated record is created with an ODS Status of New.  The ODS Status on this record is changed to Out of Sync and the Delete from ODS option is check marked so it can be deleted from the ODS next time you Submit. 
      • If there are changes to a non-key field, the Generated record is created with an ODS Status of Out of Sync.
    • If you Submit, no changes will take place to the ODS data. 
  • Out of Sync – The record exists on your ODS, but one or more fields doesn’t match. 
    • If you re-Generate, the details on this record are compared to the details on the Generated record.
      • If there are no changes to the data, this record is not changed and the ODS Status will remain Out of Sync
      • If there are changes to a "key" field, the Generated record is created with an ODS Status of New.  The ODS Status on this record remains Out of Sync and the Delete from ODS option is check marked so it can be deleted from the ODS next time you Submit. 
      • If there are changes to a non-key field, the Generated record is created with an ODS Status of Out of Sync.
    • If you Submit the record on the ODS is either updated, or deleted, depending on whether or not the Delete from ODS option is check marked.
  • Deleted – The record has been deleted from the ODS.
    • If you re-Generate, this record is removed from the database. 
    • If you Submit, this record is ignored.
