Munis Scheduler Monitor service spiking CPU

Description of Issue

The Munis Scheduler Monitor service is generating duplicate processes. This eventually leads to so many excessive processes, the CPU will spike to 99-100%.

Cause

This issue is caused by a corrupted VMWare DLL located at: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\vm3dgl64.dll following a VMWare Tools update.

Resolution

Workaround: stop the Munis Scheduler Monitor service to reduce the impact on the CPU.

Resolution:

  1. Revert any recent VMWare Tools updates.

  2. Replace the corrupted DLL with a copy from another server or from a server snapshot if the revert does not fix the issue.
