Cause
Insufficient user permissions
Resolution
  • To copy journals in Journal Analysis, the General Ledger permission of 'Perform journal reversals' is needed, even if not selecting the 'Reverse original journal amounts' option. 
  • If copying a journal created by another user, the General Ledger permission of 'Update others' journal entries' is also needed.

To update permissions to allow a user to copy journals in Journal Analysis:

System Administration > Security > User Attributes

  1. Search for the user who will be copying journals.
  2. Select one of their roles that grants General Ledger.
  3. Click Edit Role near the bottom of the screen.
  4. Select the General Ledger yellow folder.
  5. Click Update
  6. Check off the option of 'Perform journal reversals.'
  7. Check off the option of 'Update others' journal entries' if appropriate.
  8. Click Accept to save updates.
  9. Re-open Journal Analysis before trying to copy a journal.
