How does local income tax generate on the W-2
How does local income tax generate on the W-2
Description of Issue
How does local income tax generate on the W-2 record?
Context
- Payroll
- Deduction and Benefit Master
- W-2 and 1099-R Processing
Cause
Resolution
- Munis is hard coded to recognize the deduction code range of 5000-5999 as local income tax.
- When generating W-2 records, Munis will populate all yearly accumulator data for any deductions within 5000-5999 into the LIT section of the W-2.
- Munis will only separate the amounts if the deduction codes are defined with different Local Codes on the deduction master.
- If an employee has multiple LIT deduction codes, with three different Local Codes, those amounts will be displayed on three separate lines. If they all share the same Local Code, the three amounts will be reported in total on the same LIT line on the W-2.
