Turn off Life Events in ESS


Description of Issue
  • Disable Life Events in Employee Self Service
  • Prevent employees from submitting Life Events in ESS
  • Turn off Life Events for Benefits Enrollment
Context
  • Munis version 2019.1 and higher
  • Employee Self Service (ESS)
  • Benefits Enrollment
Resolution
  1. To review you will want to navigate to the program Personnel Settings
    1. Menu → Human Capital Management → Personnel Setup → Personnel Settings
  2. Click Update and locate the option for Allow Life Event Changes, uncheck to disable and check to enable this option


  • Additionally, to see this update take immediate action in Employee Self Service, you may want to clear the server-side cache.
  1. To clear the server-side cache, you'll want to navigate in ESS to Server Cache Administration
    1. Login to ESS as an ADMIN and navigate to:
    2. Administration > Employee Administration > Server Side Cache Administration
  2. Click Clear Server-Side Cache to preform the clearing of the cache
    1. This option can be run at any time and without fear of data loss
  3. Logout of ESS and log back in to confirm Life Events is now removed from the sidebar
Cause
  • Life Events are currently enabled in Personnel Settings
