Make a Rental and Pay Down the Security Deposit

Description of Issue

When making a Rental in Parks & Rec, we would like to only pay the Security Deposit amount at the time of booking. When we set the amount to the deposit amount, it does not save the remaining amount to be paid later.

Cause

During booking, the grand total is designed to be adjustable to fit your needs. However, this will impact the grand total of the entire invoice. To pay an invoice partially, such as with a security deposit, the grand total of the entire rental should be invoiced first. 

Resolution
  1. Go to Parks & Rec > Rental Registration > Create. 

  2. Select a Location, Item, Date and Time as you normally would. 

  3. On the Order Summary page, confirm the total of the entire rental. 

  4. Click Pay Later. 

  5. Click View Invoice on the Receipt Page. 

  6. Edit this total to whatever you're partially paying. The grand total will retain in the invoice. 

  7. Enter a Customer name, and click Pay. Process as you normally would.

To access this invoice to eventually pay the full amount, it will be available in Contact > Search, Rental Registration > Search, and Invoice > Search.Â
