Add entity codes to Munis



Description of Issue

How to set up a new entity in MUNIS



Context

Cause

Entities were not established and need to be added by the site.



Resolution

Any work with entity code restriction should first be done in a Test environment and processed in Live with no other users in MUNIS.

System Administration > General Administration > System Settings

  1. Click Miscellaneous Settings

  2. Click Update

  3. Check box for Use account entity code restrictions

  4. Enter Entity Code information as needed



Additional Information

After an entity code has been established a thorough look at Role Permissions will be needed if intending to restrict users by entity codes.

System Administration > Security > Roles

  1. Click Search

  2. Enter in Role key

  3. Click Accept

  4. Click Munis System under General

  5. Click Update

  6. Choose appropriate Entity Code Restriction for the role

  7. Click Accept


Entity code must be changed in Account Master to reflect the correct Entity for the account

General Ledger > Set up/Chart of Accounts > Account Master

  1. Click Search

  2. Enter Account code information

  3. Click Accept

  4. Click Update

  5. Enter desired Entity

  6. Click Accept
