How to Update SMTP Settings for MSS Applications

How to access and update the SMTP email settings for MSS applications.

Resolution

SMTP settings for MSS Applications (including ESS, VSS, and CSS) are kept separate from the Munis SMTP settings. The following steps must be performed for each MSS Application in each environment.

  1. Navigate to the MSS Hosting page of the site on which settings will be updated

    1. Access this page by following the steps in How Do Clients Access the MSS Hosting Page

  2. Log in using Cloud Admin credentials (ex. 1234jdoe)

  3. Click on System Configuration

  4. Under E-Mail Server Parameters, populate the fields with SMTP information

  5. Click Update

  6. In the left menu, click Client Configuration

  7. Scroll to Default "from" email address and populate this field with the address mail will be sent from

  8. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Update Client

  9. Verify the SMTP connection by performing one or both of the following

    1. Send a test email through the MSS Hosting page by following the steps in How to Send Test Email Through Self Service

    2. Have a user attempt a password reset via email in the MSS Application
