Abatement Certificate printing Abatement instead of Exemption
Description of Issue
Abatement Certificate is printing as an Exemption and Exemptions are printing as Abatements on the Certificates.
Context
- Property Tax Billing
- Abatement Entry (txabtent)
Cause
Currently, Abatement Certificates will print Exemption if the Exemption Code used is set to Applies To - Assessment and the value of the property was truly reduced by some amount. Otherwise, Abatement will be printed.Â
Resolution
Development is currently researching this issue.
As a workaround, navigate to Exemption Codes by searching or via the following path: Property Revenues > Property Tax Billing > Region > State > Assessor Setup > Exemption Codes
- To Print Certificate as Abatement, the setup on Exemption Code should be:
- Type - Abatement
- Applies To - Principal/Tax
- To Print Certification as Exemption, the following setup on Exemption Code should be:
- Type - Exemption
- Applies To -Â Assessment
- NOTE: When entering an Exemption into Abatement Entry, there also must be a value in the Exemption Change field in order for it to print as an Exemption. If there is no value in the field, no matter the Exemption Code setup, it will print as an Abatement.
