Optional Life not using spouse birthday



Description of Issue

Deduction for Spouse Life is using the Spouse's birth date when calculating.



Context

Cause

Incorrect Calc Code is being used for the Employee plus Spouse life insurance deduction.



Resolution
  1. Navigate to Payroll>Payroll Setup>Deduction/Benefit Master.

  2. Click Search.

  3. Enter Deduction Code and Click Accept.

  4. Click Update.

  5. Select Calc Code 24 from dropdown menu in Calc Code field.

  6. Click Accept.

  7. Navigate to Payroll>Employee Maintenance>Employee Deductions.

  8. Search for Employee and Deduction and click Accept.

  9. Click Delete. Click Yes to prompt confirming delete.

  10. Click Add

    1. Enter deduction code

    2. Click on Insurance tab

    3. Enter spouse insurance amount in Employee Annual Salary 

      1. Using Calc Code 24 will automatically fill the Spouse Ins Amt with that amount.

    4. Tab to Optional Life and complete the Factor and Spouse table and Times reported.

  11. Click Accept.



Additional Information

Optional Spouse Life uses calc code 24 to look at spouse age and insurance amount.  Deduction must be tied to Spouse under Dependents.
