Year may not be less than last fiscal year. The other notable issue users may see is the GL Effective Day will display 12/31/1899.
- This is due to a sites Journal Number Control not being copied/created for the next calendar or fiscal year or omitting today's date (which happens most frequently in leap years).Â
- This can also occur if the Default year/Period is prior to the Current year/period in the General Ledger Settings.Â
Resolution
- Navigate to the Journal Number Control program either by searching or via the following path: General Ledger > General Ledger Menu > Miscellaneous Setup > Journal Number Control.
- From here you can copy/duplicate the previous year configuration or add new to build the new year manually. Please see this article for more guidance: How to set up Journal Number Control
- Verify that today's date is included in one of the Start-End date ranges for the fiscal year.Â
- If Journal Number Control Exists and all dates are accounted for, then navigate to the General Ledger Settings program either by searching or via the following path: Financials > General Ledger Menu > Set Up/ Chart of Accounts > General Ledger Settings
- If the Default year/Period is prior to the Current year/period in this program, then click Update.Â
- Enter a Default year/Period that is equal to or after the Current year/period.Â
- Click Accept.Â
