Description of Issue

How can we limit workflow by Job Class ranges? We have an ATN rule set up for JOB - Job Class Code, but it is not being honored by the system.

Cause

Conflicting ATN Business Rules exist with a Type of VER - Verify Approval.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to Workflow Business Rules

    1. EERP > System Administration > Workflow Administration > Workflow Business Rules

  2. Click Add

  3. Define the following fields

    1. Process - ATN

    2. Approvers - One or more Munis User IDs that will approve this rule

    3. Step - Workflow process step

    4. Type - JOB - Job Class Code

    5. Rule Type - Approve

  4. Define Business Rule Ranges

    1. Field - Job Class Code 

    2. From and To ranges

  • Rules that are not defined with a Type of JOB - Job Class Code will function as umbrella rules. For instance, an ATN rule defined as VER - Verify Approval will be applied to all Job Openings, even if a conflicting JOB - Job Class Code rule exists. To restrict ATN rules by Job Class, each rule must be assigned a JOB type and a Business Rule Range. Only then will the system honor the specific ranges. 

Additional Information

  • If you have two rules, one will cover a specific job class range (2000-3000), while the other will apply to the remaining range (1000-1999 AND 3001-ZZZZ).
