In Employee Access, when entering and saving a direct deposit action, user receives the error, Error saving direct deposit accounts - An error was encountered creating the personnel action for the direct deposit change.

Payroll Control Settings were not configured for ESS DIRECT DEPOSIT
The Workflow Business Rule was defined with a Reason Code
Navigate to Action Codes
EERP > Human Capital Management > Human Resources > Personnel Actions > Action Codes
Search on an existing record or Add a new record with the following definitions
Action Code - can contain up to four characters of text
Category - O - OTHER or V - CIVIL SERVICE VALIDATION
Short Desc - e.g. DD
Long Desc - e.g. DIRECT DEPOSIT
Attachment Type - Defines the attachment type used when attaching documents for the selected action code, if desired
Click Accept
Navigate to Payroll Control Settings
EERP > Human Capital Management > Payroll > Payroll Setup > Payroll Control Settings
Configure the following settings for Category - ESS DIRECT DEPOSIT
PENDING ACTION CODE
WRITE CHECK FOR REMAINING DIRECT DEPOSIT AMOUNT
PRIMARY DIRECT DEPOSIT DEDUCTION CODE
Navigate to Workflow Business Rules
EERP > System Administration > Workflow Administration > Workflow Business Rules
Search on an existing record or Add a new record
Define Process as PMV or PMO
Remove any associated Reason Code
