Where does Check Digit auto populate from

Where does Check Digit auto populate from

Description of Issue

Where does the Check Digit auto populate from when entering a new Bank Code?

Context

Bank Codes

Cause
  • When entering a new bank code, the base number is the first 8 digits of the routing number (RTN) and the check digit field is not accessible.

  • The check digit is the last digit in a routing number, so when you enter the base number and tab the final digit of the RTN (check digit) populates automatically.

Resolution

The check digit auto-populates based on the bank's routing number.

Financials > Cash Management > Bank Reconciliation > Bank Codes

  1. Click Add

  2. Enter required General Information

  3. Tab through to Routing Transit Number section

  4. Enter the Base number or the full Routing number (it will only populate the first 8 digits)

  5. Tab down and the check digit and RTN will populate automatically

Additional Information

Munis pulls the RTN number from the American Bankers Association Database.
