Resolution

For sites using UBCIS

To bill Stormwater based on Impervious Area using Munis to calculate the charges the following setup can be used by creating a charge code for the Stormwater and setting up the Impervious Area on the Parcel in Property Master. Calc Code (71) is used to generate charges based on the following calculation; Impervious Area / Unit of Measure (UOM) = “equivalent residential unit” (ERU). ERU * Flat Rate = charge to customer.

Charge Code Creation

  1. Tyler Menu > Munis > General Revenues or Property Revenues > Accounts Receivable > Setup > Accounts Receivable Charge Code
  2. Add
  3. Populate desired fields in General Information and Additional Attributes
  4. Rate Information > Calculation Code 71
  5. Rate Master
  6. Populate UOM and UOM Desc along with other desired fields

Sites using Utility Billing Classic that want to bill for Stormwater by Impervious area they can either use a regular flat charge and have the ERU set as the factor on the service or use a CC62/CC64 fixed consumption service, depending on desired rate calculation method.
