Description of Issue

  • Duplicate key error prevents saving a new asset record

  • Insert_faglacts failed: -268 [ISAM -2601] Additional information concerning a status error of -268: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'dbo.faglacts' with unique index 'faglacts1'. The duplicate key value is (xxxxx (asset number), xxxx (org code), xxxx (object code), ).

Cause

There is an orphaned record in the system with same asset code



Resolution

  • Recreate asset with a different asset number than what is mentioned in the error message

  • Run the DIA Utility and auto-correct the condition Capital Asset GL Accounts -> Invalid Capital Asset Number. This will delete the temporary record and allow use of asset number in error message
