Selected device is no longer valid

Click Complete in Cashiering and receive the message An error occurred processing payment: Error: Selected device is no longer valid.

Bad files/data in the Cashiering Hardware Console installation folder.

Completely uninstall/delete the Hardware Console installation. Deleting those old files can be helpful as sometimes there can be remaining info in that folder after upgrades that can mess with hardware.  To do this, go into the folder C > Program Files (x86) > Tyler Technologies > Cashiering (Web) > Hardware Console folder. The Hardware Console can be reinstalled by going into Cashiering under the 9-box and selecting Hardware Console Installer. Once the Hardware Console is reinstalled you will need to add the devices back.
