NCDPI BAAS Error - Out of Balance

• BAAS will not allow me to submit a budget amendment for PRC XYZ after adding a sales tax refund to the budget. This is a contra-expense and therefore must be budgeted to the sales tax refund code as a negative number.

Adding the sales tax refund as an amended amount put the account Out of Balance

Balance the account 

• DPI requires that all Budgets to be balanced prior to sending to BAAS.

  • Total Budgeted line amounts must equal the Revenue amount.

  • The Revenue amount must equal Allotment + Carryover amounts.
