Resolution

In the Depreciate Assets program:

  1. Click Define.
  2. Enter year/period in Depreciation to be taken for field, General Ledger (GL) effective date in Depreciation transaction date field, and click Accept.
    1. Depreciation last taken for field is informational only and does not affect the depreciation calculation at all:  Depreciation last taken for field shows an incorrect year
  3. Click Select.
  4. Click Process.
  5. Select output type in Output type window, and click OK.
  6. In Post Journal Confirmation pop-up window, click Yes, Post Journal.
Additional Information
  • Enterprise ERP Capital Assets Procedures Version 2021 - Depreciation information begins on page 52
  • Depreciation will not be taken twice for the same asset
  • If multiple years/periods of depreciation need to be taken, separate transactions can be made for each year/period or you can process one transaction to get each asset caught up to the year/period specified
