Resolution
In the Depreciate Assets program:
- Click Define.
- Enter year/period in Depreciation to be taken for field, General Ledger (GL) effective date in Depreciation transaction date field, and click Accept.
- Depreciation last taken for field is informational only and does not affect the depreciation calculation at all: Depreciation last taken for field shows an incorrect year
- Click Select.
- Click Process.
- Select output type in Output type window, and click OK.
- In Post Journal Confirmation pop-up window, click Yes, Post Journal.
Additional Information
- Enterprise ERP Capital Assets Procedures Version 2021 - Depreciation information begins on page 52
- Depreciation will not be taken twice for the same asset
- If multiple years/periods of depreciation need to be taken, separate transactions can be made for each year/period or you can process one transaction to get each asset caught up to the year/period specified
