Description of Issue
Why are project year's encumbrance amount negative?
Context
- Project Expense String
- Encumbrance liquidation (Credit)
- Journal Source Codes (COM, COL, POM, POL, EXL)
Cause
The sum of amounts for encumbrance has more credit than debit.
Resolution
- If header amount matches detail there is no issue. Amounts should sum the supporting journal line detail.
- If the sum of detail is a credit balance it would be correct to display negative.
- If header and detail amounts do not match run project balance check utility for that project year, if it has errors include excel output and submit case to support.
Additional Information
- Project years do not always align with General Ledger Fiscal Year. Journal amounts will display were effective date lands in the project's year.
- Life to Date (LTD) projects have project year Encumbrance and SOY Encumbrance which is the sum of all historic encumbrances.
