In order to use peripheral devices with the Cashiering Hardware Console, supported device drivers must be installed.

As of versions 2019.1.12+, 2019.3.6.0+, and 2020.1.3.1+ the Cashiering Client and/or Hardware Console installer no longer includes the device drivers, and they must be installed separately.

All Clients

  • Cashiering device drivers driver installers can be obtained from Tyler Community - Cashiering Software Downloads
  • Please note: You will need to be logged into Tyler Community first for this link to load properly. You may need to click load the link a second time after you've logged into Tyler Community.
  • This download will include the Tyler Cashiering Hardware Drivers.exe and the ManualHardwareDrivers3 folder


On-Premises Clients

  • When Cashiering is deployed from Tyler Deploy, the hardware drivers are downloaded to the server Cashiering is installed on
  • The install location is typically <DataDrive>:\Program Files\Tyler Technologies\Tyler Cashiering Installers\<Octopus Environment>*
  • Extract files from TylerCashieringHardwareDrivers.zipto access the Tyler Cashiering Hardware Drivers.exeand the ManualHardwareDriversV3folder
  • The folder can then be copied to a shared location if desiredor workstations as needed


Installing Device Drivers on Workstation

  • Devices should NOT be connected to the workstation while drivers are being installed. Connect the devices when prompted, or after installation is complete.
    • Drivers can be installed manually, or
    • Drivers can be installed with individual device driver installers (recommended), or multiple can be installed at once with the Tyler Cashiering Hardware Drivers.exe

    Installing Drivers with the Tyler Cashiering Hardware Drivers.exe

    1. To use Tyler Cashiering Hardware Drivers.exe, place a copy of the file on the workstation
    2. Double click Tyler Cashiering Hardware Drivers.exe
    3. When the Welcome page displays, click Next
    4. Chose the peripheral hardware that will be connected to the workstation
    5. Click Next
    6. The wizard will suggest a destination folder. If you would like a different location, click Change and select the desired location
    7. Once the location has been selected, click Next
    8. Click Install
    9. Once the installation is complete, click Finish
    10. Next, install the Cashiering Hardware Console or Client and Hardware Console, depending on the version
    11. If the Hardware Console is already installed, restart the Hardware Console Exit (How to Restart Cashiering Hardware Console from browser
    12. Exit Hardware Console from system tray
      1. On the bottom right corner of desktop, click the arrow to show hidden items
      2. Right click the Hardware Console icon > click Exit
    13. Launch Tyler.Cashiering.HardwareService.exe from installation path. Ex: C:\Program Files (x86)\Tyler Technologies\Tyler Cashiering\HardwareConsole
      14. Open the Hardware Console from the system tray, or from the 9-Box menu in the UI.web web page)
    14. To add a device driver later on, run Tyler Cashiering Hardware Drivers.exe again and select modify or use the manual hardware drivers

    *The On-Prem install location can be verified in Tyler Deploy under the Tyler Cashiering Server Product Configuration

    • In Tyler Deploy, expand Product Configurations and select Tyler Cashiering Server
    • Select the desired environment
    • Expand the section Tyler Cashiering Server 
    • Check off Show advanced
    • Scroll down to Installer Physical Path
