Informational
Why are we migrating to No VPN? What is No VPN?
No VPN is a hosting offering that allows your Core Tyler Products (EERP Munis, TCM, Cashiering, Energov, etc.) to be public facing over the internet without a VPN Connection. Reporting Products (Cubes, Crystal Reports, and SSRS Reports) is restricted to your local network. You will need to use a software VPN for Reporting when working remotely.
See What is No VPN for further information.
Do we need the ASA with No VPN? Can we keep the ASA with No VPN?
The use of the hardware ASA VPN is not supported after migration to No VPN.
The Cisco ASA Hardware Appliance will be sent back to Tyler upon completion of the Migration.
What Products are supported in No VPN (e.g., Reporting / Cubes / SSRS / Crystal Reports (ODBIC)?
Do you migrate IMPL?
IMPL environments will not be upgraded unless they are being paid for as additional environments, in which case they must be renamed.
How long do we test?
Minimum testing after non-prod environments has been upgraded is at least two weeks.
What does Client EERP Admins need to do to prepare for migration?
Please review and fill in the Project Plan provided by your Deployment Project Manager. Once completed all non production environments will be scheduled to be migrated at the same time at least two weeks later.
What is the Project Plan?
To support the migration process, we will work from a project plan that includes tasks for key stakeholders. The Deployment Project Manager will update the project plan and it will be available in Kiteworks for review
What is Kiteworks?
Kiteworks is our secure web-based FTP platform where sensitive information will be uploaded and accessible to the project managers at Tyler and authorized users at the client site. A project manager will grant access to the Kiteworks folder for the project to all relevant parties.
What does Client IT need to do to prepare for migration?
Client IT will need to whitelist new Tyler Technologies networks for reporting software.
See Network Ranges for SaaS No VPN for more information.
What about Printing?
Hosted clients with a No-VPN solution would need to keep using the ASA VPN for printing or have their IT setup a ThinPrint Server to stop using the ASA VPN hardware device.
What is Thin Print?
Tyler Technologies is now using a third party solution called ThinPrint offer printing without a VPN.
See How to configure ThinPrint printers for more information.
