Your W4 information was not submitted for approval - No changes were made

When attempting to update Dependent Allowances on the W-4 in ESS from 0 to 3, with the Marital Status still Single, getting an error message "Your W4 information was not submitted for approval. No changes were made"

• Payroll Setup

State W-4 has the 2020 or later checkbox selected on the state ESS W-4 Template and it should not be checked

1. Navigate to Enterprise ERP>Payroll>Payroll Setup>Income Tax Setup>W-4 ESS Setup

2. Click Search and type the state code in the State Code box

3. Click Accept

4. Click on the 2020 W-4 tab

5. Click Update and remove the check mark from the 2020 or later W-4 box

6. Click Accept
