Context
  • Honeywell Scanner
  • Tyler Cashiering
Resolution
  1. Obtain the Cashiering Hardware Drivers ManualHardwareDriversV3 directory
  2. Navigate to ManualHardwareDriversV3\Xenon1900\HSM USB Serial Driver ver 3.1.4
  3. Right-click on setup.bat and choose Run as administrator

  5. Scan the QR code below to configure the scanner for all Tyler Cashiering scan lines and to put it in COM port emulation mode
  6. Open Windows Device Manager
  7. Expand Ports (COM & LPT) and note the number of the COM port that the scanner was created on
  8. Add the scanner into the Hardware Console and set the COM port to reflect what you see in Device Manager
  9. Restart Hardware Console before testing: How to Restart Cashiering Hardware Console
Additional Information
  • After first connecting the scanner but before scanning the QR Code, in Device Manager the scanner should show up under POS Barcode Scanner as POS HID Barcode scanner. While not the correct driver, this is what you want to see for now.
  • After scanning the QR code, the device should show up in Device Manager under Ports (COM & LPT) if it’s configured correctly
  • To verify the scanner COM port #, look at the scanner in Devices and Printers and verify that the COM port # there matches the COM port # you see in Device Manager
