Error received deleting item:
Error deleting Item (3688): ifItemsio_delete: Execute delete_Items 28: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK_RequisitionItems_Items". The conflict occurred in database "munprod", table "dbo.RequisitionItems", column 'ItemId'.
Context
Inventory Management
Cause
Item is listed on a requisition
Resolution
In Requisitions, use Advanced Search to search for the item
- If requisition is open, item can be deleted from it, and then the item itself can be deleted
- If requisition is converted, then item cannot be deleted from it or from Munis. Instead, the status of the item can be changed to Inactive or Obsolete (only available in 2018.1 and above)
Additional Information
- Inactive items cannot be added to requisitions, purchase orders, or pick tickets.
- The Obsolete Items program (Financials > Purchasing > Setup > Obsolete Items) sets item records to a status of Obsolete, which provides a way to remove from view any records for items that are no longer in stock or that have been discontinued. An obsolete item cannot be viewed or used in the Items program, and can only be viewed in the Obsolete Items program.
