Year/Per are outside users permitted range

Cause
This issue occurs when posting with a Date or GL Year/Period that is outside the user's associated role(s) General Ledger permissions period range
Can also occur if the Default Year/Period in General Ledger Settings are not kept current and up to date in reference to today's date, and the user's associated role(s) does not have General Ledger permissions to post to future periods
Resolution
General Ledger Role permissions - Maintain period range:
- Navigate to System Administration>Security>User Attributes>Search for the user in question and click Accept
- Single click and highlight the role that contains General Ledger permissions to be updated
- Click Edit Role below this window
- Click General Ledger
- Update Allow transactions in periods beyond the default to the number of periods the user would need to post to from the current date
- Click Accept
General Ledger Settings - Verify Default Year/Period is current and correct:
- IMPORTANT: Before changing anything in GL Settings, consult with your supervisor. Note: the Auto Update box indicates that the Default Year/Period is maintained automatically by a Scheduled job instead of maintained manually
- Navigate to Financials>General Ledger Menu>Set Up/Chart of Accounts>General Ledger Settings
- Verify the Default Year/Period are current and correct
