Client Regular IT Tasks: Daily: - System Backups

- SQL backups are set to overwrite and run nightly at 10:00 by default. Please build data retention into your nightly backup plans following industry best practices.

* Recommended for backup but not required. Weekly: - Install EERP Updates using Tyler Deploy and keep up with the latest hot fixes and Cumulative Updates.
- Tyler recommends keeping your EERP program up to date with the latest priority 0 tickets. Please review this KCS article on how to update products. EERP updates can be and are recommended to be scheduled to run. Please review this KCS article on how to automatic updates can been configured within Tyler Deploy. If you wish to modify or disable the schedule, you may do so by logging in to Tyler Deploy.
- Verify drive space and drive usage is growing at an expected rate.
- Check SQL backup logs for any errors (for Non Tyler System Management sites and sites without SQL Database Mail).
Monthly: - Install all available Windows critical updates and service packs as well as available SQL cumulative updates (http://sqlserverupdates.com/). In addition, please ensure the “Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows” button is selected under Windows Update -> Change settings. Updates classified by Microsoft as lower than critical status should also be applied on a regular schedule.
- Please verify through the Tyler Community (System & Technology) or System Management Support before installing SQL Service Packs
Note: Many clients opt to stay 30 days behind Microsoft’s patch release schedule in order to avoid the potential for early release platform impact
- Restart servers (as required for Windows Updates).
- Run LDAP utility and choose users in EERP but not in Active Directory. Recommend setting any user that is no longer active in the Active Directory EERP users (<domain>\munisusers) group to disabled within EERP and not deleting the user. Please review this KCS article on the LDAP sync.
- Run Database Integrity Check (on-demand SQL maintenance task).
Note: This does not have to be done monthly, but it is advised to do as frequently as reasonably possible. This process can be very lengthy and may need to be scheduled to occur during an extended period of down time (i.e. long holiday weekends). As the databases grows, this process will take longer.

- Making sure the Database Integrity Assistant is run before upgrades. Please review this KCS article on running the Upgrade Prep Utility.
- Verify there are no DIA updates to be installed by the MIU prior to running.
- Recommend running more frequently when approaching a version upgrade.
- Add URLs supplied on site report to local intranet zone in Internet Explorer.
- Installing TCM HTML5 Twain Plugin on user workstations.
- Configuring SMTP/Exchange to allow mail relay from the application, web and database servers.
- Installing software prerequisites for servers and workstation.
- Configuring and maintaining software and hardware firewalls.
- Configuring and maintaining networking infrastructure (including switches, V LAN’s, load balancers, proxies).
- Configuring and maintaining active directory, group policies and DNS.
- Configuring and maintaining all server hardware (physical and virtual).
- Configuring and installing antivirus and excluding folders as identified on the site report.
- Acquiring and installing SSL certificates and updating them before they expire. Please review this KCS article on updating SSL certificates.
