Description of Issue

Where can I find the drivers for Cashiering hardware devices?

Context
  • Cashiering
  • Hardware drivers
  • Device driver
  • Printer driver
Cause

In order to use peripheral devices with the Cashiering Hardware Console, supported device drivers must be installed.

As of versions 2019.1.12+, 2019.3.6.0+, and 2020.1.3.1+ the Cashiering Client and/or Hardware Console installer no longer includes the device drivers and they must be installed separately.

Resolution

All Clients

  • Cashiering device drivers installers can be obtained from Tyler Community - Cashiering Software Downloads
  • Please note: You will need to be logged into Tyler Community first for this link to load properly. You may need to click the link a second time after you've logged into Tyler Community.
  • This download will include the Tyler Cashiering Hardware Drivers.exe and the ManualHardwareDrivers3 folder

On-Premises Clients

  • When Cashiering is deployed from Tyler Deploy, the hardware drivers are downloaded to the server Cashiering is installed on
  • The install location is typically <DataDrive>:\Program Files\Tyler Technologies\Tyler Cashiering Installers\<Octopus Environment>*
  • Extract files from TylerCashieringHardwareDrivers.zip to access the Tyler Cashiering Hardware Drivers.exe and the ManualHardwareDriversV3 folder
  • The folder can then be copied to a shared location if desired

Installing Device Drivers on Workstation

  1. Devices should NOT be connected to the workstation while drivers are being installed. Connect the devices when prompted, or after installation is complete.
  2. Drivers can be installed manually, or with the Tyler Cashiering Hardware Drivers.exe
    1. Steps for drivers in the ManualHardwareDriversV3 folder vary by device. Please see the document Manual Hardware Installation found here: Tyler Community - Cashiering - Installation and Troubleshooting
    2. The Epson TM-H6000V requires OPOS3.0.0 which is currently only available through the ManualHardwareDriversV3 folder. Please see Installing Epson TM-H6000V Receipt Printer for Cashiering
  3. To use Tyler Cashiering Hardware Drivers.exe, place a copy of the file on the workstation
  4. Double click Tyler Cashiering Hardware Drivers.exe
  5. When the Welcome page displays, click Next
  6. Chose the peripheral hardware that will be connected to the workstation
  7. Click Next
  8. The wizard will suggest a destination folder. If you would like a different location, click Change and select the desired location
  9. Once the location has been selected, click Next
  10. Click Install
  11. Once the installation is complete, click Finish
  12. Next, install the Cashiering Hardware Console or Client and Hardware Console, depending on the version
  13. If the Hardware Console is already installed, restart the Hardware Console
    1. Exit Hardware Console from browser
    2. Exit Hardware Console from system tray
      1. On the bottom right corner of desktop, click the arrow to show hidden items
      2. Right click the Hardware Console icon > click Exit
    3. Launch Tyler.Cashiering.HardwareService.exe from installation path. Ex: C:\Program Files (x86)\Tyler Technologies\Tyler Cashiering\HardwareConsole
    4. Open the Hardware Console from the system tray, or from the 9-Box menu in the UI.web web page
